The Model (20 Minutes)

I took a picture of this model, but wasn't able to remain in the class that day. Years later I re-discovered the photo and painted the painting.

She posed for 20 minutes at a time, so I put a wristwatch in the painting to indicate that. The atmosphere created in a studio during a model's pose is like holding your breath. That was the feeling I was trying to capture.
